Brooklyn Paper interviews Grimm

Pretty intense interview with Grimm in the online edition of The Brooklyn Paper today. The news story about the interview was nothing special, but the apparently unedited transcript (it must be unedited, because it features Grimm cursing!) has some very revealing moments, thanks to relentless questioning badgering by Brooklyn Paper Editor (and longtime Mike McMahon lackey) Gersh Kuntzman.

1. Grimm says he is pro-life, yet is also for capital punishment.
2. Grimm opposes the Ground Zero mosque because it insensitive to 9/11 survivors. Kuntzman seemed particularly enraged by Grimm's suggestion that new immigrants have to basically suck it up until they're no longer new.
3. Grimm is not convinced of the science on global warming.
4. Grimm sticks to the Republican canard that "tort reform" is necessary if we're going to have real health care reform (studies show that "tort reform" would save less than one percent).
5. Grimm thinks that environmental regulations — some of which protect our children from growing three arms — undermine the American dream.
6. He opposes "out-of-control" spending, but would fight for his piece of the pie if such spending is passed.

It goes along in this mode for a while, but it's definitely worth reading.

  1. Oh wow, Michael Grimm's curses under pressure. Boy, you guys are really good at this. Are you sure this is not a elementary school project? And who is Gersh Kuntzman that I should care what the hell he thinks.
