Last minute oil money?

Interesting late money came into the Grimm campaign from ExxonMobil PAC ($6,500 on Nov. 1) and the National Association of Convenience Stores ($1,500 on Election Day), according to the FEC website. He also got a $1,000 loan from a contractor named Desmond Costello of Floral Park, NY, and another grand from a Park Avenue "homemaker" named Amy Phelan, according to the same FEC search engine.

A little more digging revealed that Phelan gave $2,000 to GW Bush in 2004. And Costello gave $1,800 earlier this year.

Overall, as Open Secrets reported, of the nearly $1 million that Grimm raised, the largest chunk came from the real estate industry ($141,000).
